🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
When Joseph’s brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him. —Genesis 37:18
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿
Joseph learns a personally hard, but poignant lesson in life. No matter how people treat you, their actions do not change God’s plans for you. Your life is never in someone else’s hands. It may feel like it is, but God the Creator, doesn’t take orders from his creation.

People reject us. God redeems us.
Rejection from people is not a rejection from God. Joseph’s half brothers band together to inflict maximum harm against him. They hurtfully concoct to kidnap and kill him. In due time, hurt grows buds, leaves, stems, and roots. Beloved, of all that blooms, don’t allow hurt to blossom. It will run deep throughout your garden, rise into bearing trees, and raise non-edifying fruit to the soul. But if hurt persists its tendrils surrounding us, God can redeem us—from captivity to captive for Christ. God’s redemption is always for something greater than our own lives. When Joseph is reunited with his brother many years later, God’s redemption comes full circle. The rejected is now ruler, and delivers their lives and their families’ lives from the famine. The rejection Joseph endures becomes the salvation of a nation.
Joseph doesn’t understand all that happens at the time of his earlier trials, but he believes God. Trust God in the trenches and He will transform your tribulations into truth.

People leave us. God loves us.
A part of Joseph dies as he is dragged away with the caravan of Midianite traders. His brothers leave him in the hands of those who see him as nothing but a slave. But God loves Joseph and begins a plan of redemption for him from the moment his feet departs for an unknown future.
Joseph’s brothers betray him as a commodity to barter and bargain. They leave him in the cistern to perish. They leave him with traffickers to be peddled. Those who leave our lives hold no depth of devotion or affirming affection for us. Until we grasp this, we will struggle to let go of the old door handle behind us. Two hands God has given us. In this, we have a 2-handed faith. Give God both of your hands for Him to lead. If one hand holds on to the door knob of the past behind you, you can’t move on pass the leaving of others.
Who knows how many times Joseph offers the abandonments in his life to God. But we know he does, and his hand releases the door knob. We know because Joseph doesn’t become a bitter person.
God loves you more than what was behind the door. God loves you more than those who leave you worst than they find you. Trust God in the trenches and He will transform those leavings into truth.

Joseph does the best he can under the worst of circumstances. He takes the rejections and leavings that were meant to hurt him and surrenders them to someone who cares for him much, much more. Do the same, Beloved. He can transition the leavings in your life and turn them into learning experiences to reveal his greater redemptive purposes. Trust in the Real Truth in the trenches, with both hands reaching forward in faith for what God will do next.
