🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
“The Lord will uphold no good thing from those who do what is right. O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in you.” —Psalm 84:11-12
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿
God’s meaning of good is something He gives to us. Our definition of good is something we want, even if it isn’t from God. God sees good as something averse to our faith that we relinquish to Him. Our perception of good is holding on even if it’s detrimental to our faith.
In the economy of heaven, there exists a God-good that remains constant. In our world, we prefer multiple versions of man-good that shift like the swirling sands.
The question is this: Which good is better? If we believe God to be the Creator of all that is good, God’s goodness must supersede our idea of good.
But the reality is this: We often prefer our junk good to God’s gourmet good.

The Lord will uphold no good thing from those who do what is right.
Think of our hands. If they are full, they cannot hold anything else. When we cling to our version of good, no room is left for God’s goodness to occupy.
Limited capacity in our spirit to grasp our good and God’s good. Limited storage in our soul to embrace the entirety of gourmet good when space is taken up for our brand of junk good.
Goodness is a choice. We impart goodness to relationships, reasons, and rationalizations we want to keep because they are compatible, convenient, and comfortable. Character, consequences, and courage are not considered.
This microwave-decision process of good impedes our ability and capability to desire gourmet food. If we are truthful, it’s a lot easier to be filled with fleshly, temporal good than God’s supernatural, eternal good. God’s gourmet good food is more challenging to consume because it requires obedience.
Would your parents deny you something good? Block you from possessing a goodness that will enrich, encourage, and enhance your life? No, and neither will God. The purpose of God’s good is to draw you closer to Him. God will not withhold a goodness in your life if it isn’t truly healthy for you. Doing the right thing means we release our conception of good so that we can embrace all that is gourmet good. Our soul is prime real estate. Let God’s goodness stake claim to it rather than our inferior goodness.

O Lord of Heaven’s Armies, what joy for those who trust in You.
Trusting God means trusting in the consequences of God’s good. That means letting go of what we deem good in our lives for God’s better good.
“Lord had said to Abram, ‘Leave your native country, relatives, and father’s family and go to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you…and you will be blessing to others.” (Genesis 12:1-2)
So Abraham left his home of Haran when he is seventy five years old because he trusts in God’s goodness for him. If Abraham had clung to his good picture if his life and how his life would turn out, he would have missed out on all the goodness God had planned for Abraham and his family. Our contentment with our own good prevents God’s good plans in our lives. Abraham commits and chooses what is gourmet good, and it is credited to him as righteousness. His gourmet good decision blesses his entire family and descendants. Gourmet good decisions blesses whole families. Generational gourmet goodness abounds. What joy! Our children get to benefit from our gourmet decisions.
