Wisdom blooms through every season, under the most difficult of seasons. It blossoms despite attack and adversity. It buds through harsh temperatures and hard terrains. God plants seeds of Wisdom in our lives to accompany us in our journey of faith. When we are in need, these fruits of Wisdom can be harvested to help us find safe harbor and finish well.

Listen as Wisdom calls out! Hear as understanding raises her voice!
Listening means giving one’s attention to a sound. Hearing is defined as being told, informed of, or perceiving with the ear the sound of someone or something. Humanly and historically, we don’t listen or hear well. Especially when it comes to something we don’t want to be aware of or made responsible for. Truth is, we are tone deaf. That’s why Wisdom has to call out loudly and raise her voice. She wants to make sure the message reaches its intended audience. Because in life, no matter how much in denial we are, we need to listen and hear truth. Truth about people, places, and parts of us that we need to let go, forgo, and say no.

Pivotal life event occur at crossroads. Crossroads are where we determine to go right or left, delve towards God or away from Him, decide to glorify God or something else, and designate priorities of God or flesh first. Crossroads are intersections of life, love, and loyalty. With so much at stake compounded with the fact that we have a propensity and tendency to not listen or hear well, Wisdom wisely takes her stand at crossroads to ensure truth reaches us so we can make right decisions, not regretful ones. Wisdom works not randomly, but strategically and sovereignly for our good. If she can intervene at important intersections in our journey of life, foolish choices can be averted. Choices that are detrimental to our soul and destroy our well-being.

We accumulate relationships, agree to rationalizations, and ascribe to realities we shouldn’t. We let people hurt us, leave for places that hinder us, and lean on purposes that make it hard to hear or listen to truth. To recapture our focus, Wisdom shouts “Slow down, I have news for you. S-T-O-P.” This four letter warning, STOP, can make or break our journey. Wisdom picks major, not minor entrances, that we enter to make her presence known. She goes for the jugular. Her objective: to admonish us before we go too far and the way back too hard.

Wisdom is the siren of sirens. When we encounter potential trouble,
Wisdom alerts and advises.
Wisdom cautions and counsels.
Wisdom deters and dissuades.
Boldly and bravely. Wisdom is God’s premier alarm system. She will sound off and signal on when her sensors detect the presence of danger ahead.
To confirm she has our attention because the price of following the wrong path is too costly for our faith.
To affirm God’s truth in her warning because truth opens our eyes to why the path is wrong.
Knowing Wisdom leads to the Real Truth. If you open your heart and home, soul and self to Wisdom, she will be a lifelong friend like no other.
