🍃

The woman arrives weeping into Jesus’ presence.  Judas arrives in demand to the Pharisee leaders.

🍃

The woman enters humbling in because she knows her sins are many.  Judas comes proudly in because he believes he has the ultimate bargaining chip.

🍃

The woman has a broken and contrite spirit.  Judas is a bitter and calloused man.

🍃

The woman, a sinner, musters all the courage she has to enter the home of a Pharisee, uninvited in the daytime.  Judas, a disciple, musters all the cowardice he has to find the Pharisee leaders, uninvited in the nighttime.

🍃

The woman looks to find Jesus in the light of day when all can see.  Judas lurks to find Jesus’ enemies in the dark of night when no one can see.

🍃

How much is Jesus worth?

For the woman, it was a year amount in wages (Mark 14:5).  She saved all that had.  She gave all that she could.

For Judas, it was thirty pieces of silver.  He threw away  three years of ministry with Jesus.  He wasted all that he could have had.

🍃🍃🍃

How much is Jesus worth to you?

Judas conspired with Jesus’ enemies for the payment of 30 pieces of silver.  Equivalent to the price of a slave in those times.  That was what Judas and the world valued Jesus at.

The woman humbled herself in Jesus’ presence.  She knelt at His throne in worship.  She traded humiliation in the eyes of the world for heaven at the feet of Jesus.

Will you give all that you have for the treasure of knowing Jesus Christ who gave His life for you?

Will you give your innermost all for his utmost highest?

Will you give all that you have and all that ever hope to be for the Real Truth?
