🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
Later, as Jesus left the town, He saw a tax collector named Levi sitting in his tax collector’s booth. “Follow me and be my disciple,” Jesus said to him. So Levi got up, left everything, and followed Him. — Luke 5:27
🌿BELIEVE TRUTH🌿
Appearances versus reality. Often, we think we have do enough, appear enough, and be enough until we can come to Christ. Fulfill enough to be acceptable and accepted. As if God needs our help to define unmerited grace.
What we see with Matthew Levi’s situation: God meets us where we are. But Levi’s need for God began to grow long before Jesus came knocking on his door.
🍃
Levi was a successful man. Monetary-wise he was successful. Material-wise he was successful. Tax collectors were known to accumulate wealth by collecting more than they should and keeping the extras for themselves. Levi undoubtedly owned a nice house in a nice neighborhood. A nice wardrobe to wear to nice places. But God-wise he was lacking.

It’s ironic, but you can be in a room full of sunlight and be overwhelmed by darkness. You can be at a joyous wedding and feel sad inside. You can be on a fun vacation and wish you were somewhere else. You can live a life of wealth outside and feel empty within.
Looking like you have it all and truly having it all are two very distinct things. Levi looked like he had it all, but he didn’t. Because if Levi had it all and that “all” was enough, he wouldn’t have needed Jesus.
🍃
People who need a Savior don’t have it all. What they possess may seem enough to the world, but they know the truth. It’s not.
Levi was searching for enough. His soul had been yearning for it. Then Jesus comes and offers him enough. The offer, too good to turn down. Enough, and a little bit more. Enough and eternity enough.
🍃
Jesus is knocking at your door. He knocks everyday. He wants to remind you. He. is. enough.
🍃
Eternity enough to make the sunlight feel warm.
🍃
Eternity enough to make the celebration joyful.
🍃
Eternity enough to make the most tropical vacation pale in comparison.
🍃
Eternity enough for the Real Truth to completely fill your soul.
