🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
Building a house of wisdom provides a sanctuary to come home to. But in our journey of faith, there are houses we build that we could never occupy.
We generate a list and gather the supplies. We pour the concrete foundation. We line the walls with sheet rock. We assemble the glass windows and wooden doorways. We install a ventilation system to cool and warm the air. We incorporate a plumbing system throughout the house to circulate the water. The roof is finally installed. All the fixtures and appliances are in place.
Only to find out we built the wrong house.
There are houses we design that we can never live in. Because somewhere along the construction process, something went awry.

When we choose a foundation that is made of materials other than rock. Shaky, unstable, worldly ground. A foundation that satisfies the flesh, but not the soul. When we commit to a relationship, an endeavor, a goal that gratifies our earthly desires at the expense of following our Heavenly Father.

When we choose walls to occupy thoughts and deeds that do not glorify God. We close off rooms to hide what we don’t want God to see or know. Not realizing, God is omnipresent at all times.

When we choose to open doors and windows to give access to people, pleasures, and purposes that have no place in a Christian journey. To entertain and enter into covenants with the things of the world and things not from God by inviting them in through unlatched, unfastened, and unlocked doors and windows.

If there is a problem with the outcome of the house, it’s because there was a problem during the building process.
Houses we build for we cannot take possession of. Relationships we build into we cannot stay in. Dreams we build upon we cannot bring to fruition. Desires we build up we cannot execute.

The house may look beautiful. Paint and decor add just the right touch. Latest flooring and countertop styles keep it updated. Curb appeal and garden maintenance make the exteriors pop out.
But for all its aesthetics and beauty, houses built outside the will of God can never be lived in by a child of God.
There lies the crux of house building. Wisdom building constructs based on God’s truth and character. Flesh building is based on carnal pursuits and purposes, cravings and covetness.
We cannot build and maintain a home outside the will of God.

Wisdom building leads to wise living. Choose to build with discernment and discretion.
That your foundation is based on a commitment to Jesus Christ.
That your walls are filled with faithful testimonies of running after God.
That your doors and windows open only for that which glorifies God.
That the air you breathe is not of pollution but purpose.
That living water flows throughout.
That your roof is secure in Christ.
