🌿Breathe Truth🌿
From the time of Adam and Eve when the serpent succeeded in causing them eat the forbidden fruit.
To idol worship in the biblical times.
To Judas’ cooperation in Jesus’ murder.
To the assault on believers and the early churches.
We see Satan’s intention: Introduce sin and disobedience and make its stay a permanent one in the lives of Christians.

Satan maneuvers us to focus on living in the moment and for the moment.
To make decisions based on what we can see in the physical world, without regard to the consequences in the spiritual world.
Adam and Eve ate the physical fruit in front of them without thinking of what would happen afterwards when they met with God. “You won’t die!” The serpent replied to the women. God knows that your eyes will be opened as soon as you eat it, and you will be like God, knowing both good and evil.” (Genesis 3:4). Adam and Eve equated the fruit as something that could make them “god-like.” They brought God-like powers down to their level, where they could hold it in their palm. They lived based on what they could see.

The Israelites’ worshipped the golden calf in the middle of the desert without considering how that statue was going to protect and provide provisions for them tomorrow or the future. “Come on,” they (the Israelites) said, make us some gods who can lead us.” (Exodus 32:1). The Israelites wanted to worship an object they could visualize. They lived based on what they could see.

Judas’ collaborated with the Pharisee leaders and disconnected himself from the consequences of what they would do to Jesus (then regrets later). When Judas, who had betrayed Him, realized that Jesus was condemned to die, he was filled with remorse.” (Matthew 27:3). Judas flat out did not believe Jesus was the Messiah, but a mortal man only. He lived based on what he could see.

The early Christians and early churches faced intense persecution by the hands of the Jewish leaders and zealots like Paul. “These leaders were disturbed that Peter and John were teaching the people that through Jesus there is a resurrection of the dead. (Acts 4:2). Convinced that Jesus’ teachings was blasphemous and that all of Jesus’ disciples and followers were mutual culprits in disseminating lies, Paul set out to arrest and kill as many Christians as possible. The idea that Jesus, a mere man, could forgive sins and be the Son of God appalled Paul. He lived based on what he could see.

When we live and base our choices on what we see, we limit the scope of God in our lives. We make God small and what we see in front is us big. Bigger than God.
It’s not late. We can reverse how we see and choose. There is more, and God is at work in ways we cannot completely comprehend. Look beyond the moment and what is before you and trust that the Real Truth is working on your behalf.
