🌿Breathe Truth🌿
When the time came, Jesus and the apostles sat down together at the table.
Jesus said, “I have been very eager to eat this Passover meal with you.” —Luke 22:14-15

Jesus begins his ministry at the wedding table at Cana.
Jesus ends his ministry at the Passover table in Jerusalem.
Surrounded by his beloved 12 disciples. Jesus’ last dinner consists of a meal and unknown to them, a final time of fellowship.

Jesus brings to the table a cleansing of our soul.
Before the Passover celebration, Jesus washes his disciples’ feet. He washes his disciples for several reasons. One of them: “I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you.” (John 13:15). Jesus also washes their feet to give them a picture of purity that can only come through Christ. Only Jesus can wash our sins away and make us new and whole.

Jesus brings to the table a connection of our hearts.
We have this need in our hearts for spiritual connection. A hole or void that compels us to want to belong. In John 15, Jesus gives the answer to that connection yearning: “I am the vine: you are the branches. Those who remain in me will bear much fruit.” (John 15:5). We are creatures that desire to be a part of someone or something greater than ourselves. In isolation, we don’t live well or grow well. Indeed, other believers may encourage our walk, but Jesus as the Vine provides a unique source of fellowship that is divine and irreplaceable. Our hearts need to connect with His, just as branches connect with the vine. For life and sustenance.

Jesus brings to the table a calming of our fears.
Jesus promises the Holy Spirit: ”I will not abandon you as orphans.” (John 14:18). Jesus knows that when He leaves, His disciples will feel alone. He assures them that the Holy Spirit, another Advocate, will be with them and will guide them into all truth. Jesus knows that in the flesh, we have fears. Uncertainties and worries plague our thought life. Jesus gently tells the disciples and us: “I am leaving you a gift— peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give us a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” (John 14:27)

Jesus comes to the table with a cornucopia of blessings. Cleansing of our souls. Connection of our hearts. Calming of our fears. All we have to do is make ourselves open. He will meet us where we are and take us further than we’ve ever been in our journey of faith.
Come to Him with open arms. As much of Jesus as you can wide-arms hold at the table. All that He has is yours.
Arrive with expectancy. At the table, receive all the blessings of the Real Truth.
