🌿Breathe Truth🌿
“Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions. I have chosen to be faithful.” —Psalm 119:25, 29-30
🌿Believe Truth🌿
Have you ever lied to yourself? To convince yourself something is more worthy than it really is? To portray something it truly never was? Once you breathe awakening into lies, they take on a life of their own.
Lies don’t shrink or shrivel. Shorten or snippet. Lies evolve and expand. Enlarge and extend.
So how do lies affect our soul? They create unreal facades of who we are and what matters to us.

Reasons for lying vary.
Lies to make things appear better. Our attempts of lie-makeovers are to dress it up in finer apparel, shiny baubles, and rocking shoes. We need the lies to look good, walk good, and talk good. We need to give the lies an emancipation day so they can go forth and strut their stuff. We feel better when lies look better.
Lies to gain things we want for ourselves. If there’s something we don’t want, it’s generally easier to just ignore it or simply let someone else have it by not claiming it. But when we want something specific, we will take careful time, energy, and other expense to own it. Ownership of lies gives us a feeling of power and control.

The psalmist asks God to keep him from lying to himself so that he could know God’s instructions. Lies crowd out truth. Lies grow, outgrow, and take ground in our spiritual life and cognitive processes where truth used to occupy. Flowers and weeds cannot thrive in harmony. One will strangle the other. Likewise, lies and truth cannot partner nor share residence in the garden of your life. One will rise above the presence of the other and thrive. The other will die.

To be faithful, to grow inward, and rise upward, truth has to triump. Truth has to be louder, clearer, and stronger than the lies that the enemy wants to keep entrenched in your garden.
Distance yourself from lies that are detrimental to spiritual maintenance and growth. Focus on God’s words and instructions.
Cultivate faithful living. Cultivate the Real Truth in the garden of your life.
