🌿Breathe Truth🌿
“Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the bones; even though the olive crops fails, and the fields lie empty and barren;
even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! “ —Habakkuk 3:17-18
🌿Believe Truth🌿
Friday night. Waiting for my son’s indoor practice at the hitting cages. I am one of the few moms in a sea of dads. The cage right next to where my son’s team is hitting. Three dads attempt to give advice to one youngster. While the song, “Forever Young” is being belted. Next song, “Summer of ‘69.”
Nostalgia for these dads. Mortgages to keep up. Bills to pay. Work on Monday. But here, in these batting cages, they can re-live a little bit of their youth and forget that life is now about adulting and responsibilities. Blasting 80s and 90s music and watching your kiddo play ball. To remember. What it was to be a kid again.

Progress reports. All our lives, we are measured and judged in productivity and proclivity, caliber and capacity. From educational grading to career assessments. How well we perform academically, professionally, personally.
But what happens when progress is stalled? When little is harvested, seasons of drought appear, unmet goals set in. When there are no blossoms, few fruits, barren fields, empty barns. When progress looks more like a work in progress put on repeat with no chance of abundant rain in the forecast.
We remember.
🍃🍃🍃
The faithfulness of God. When God came through in the past. When pieces of mana in unexpected forms fell into our hands. When ravens brought news of encouragement and nourishment to fill the hungry and lonely places in our lives. When God revealed Himself to us in provision and providence.
We remember.

Remembering reminds us that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Regardless of what the harvest or progress looks like.
So we can rejoice in the joy of our salvation. Not forever young or forever successful in every endeavor engaged or goal attempted in our lives. Not forever progressing as the world expects. But Forever In Jesus.
Remember that Jesus sees our potential, not just our progress. Remember and re-remember the Real Truth today.
