Jesus Finds You

A journey to find something missing in our life.  A quest to grasp a sense of fulfillment.  To find God and somehow reach Him.  But the truth is this:  it’s not us who finds God.  He is the one who finds us.

Because He was there the whole time.  He was just waiting for us to wake up and realize how much we needed him.

In John 9, we find the blind beggar who is healed by Jesus at the pool of Siloam.  The restoration of his sight and the fact that it was accomplished on the Sabbath day angers the Pharisees, Jewish leaders of the day.  The Pharisees don’t want to acknowledge the healing ministry of Jesus and attempt to refute the reality that the healing took place.

Three issues.  The Pharisees question the veracity that the man was blind in the first place.  The Pharisees curse him and falsely accuse him of being Jesus’ disciple.  Finally, they throw him out of the synagogue.

News of the Pharisees’ mistreatment of the formerly blind man reaches Jesus.

When Jesus heard what had happened, he found the man and asked, ‘Do you believe in the Son of Man?’ ”

The man answered, “Who is he, sir?  I want to believe him.”

You have seen Him,” Jesus said, “and He is speaking to you!”

Yes, Lord, I believe!”  the man said.  And he worshipped him.”  —John 9:35-38

Jesus reveals two great and deep compassion for this blind man.  First, He heals his physical blindness that has defined his life since birth.

Secondly, Jesus goes to find him, heals his spiritual blindness, and redefines his life for all eternity.

Jesus is the one who finds us.  He is coming for you and me.  He finds us in our greatest time of need and He comes to save us.

Whatever season in life you are in.  Jesus will find you.  Because of His concern and deep love for you. And He will redefine your life to all eternity.  Because His deliverance is for all eternity.

Celebrate in exhilaration expectation upon this Real Truth.
