As I was praying, Gabriel….came swiftly to me. He explained to me,
“Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding. The moment you began praying, a command was given. And I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God.” —Daniel 9:22-23
God hears our prayers. If you are ever unsure if God listens to your prayer, this passage will give you assurance He does.
The moment you began praying. The angel Gabriel could have come and simply explained Daniel’s vision to him and then left.
But Gabriel gifts Daniel with this additional information of divine encouragement:
- God hears you, Daniel. The moment you began praying. The moment you humbled yourself. The moment you offered supplications up to God. God hears you.
- God sent me to here to help you understand His message to you. To give you clarity and guidance.
- God is concerned about you. He loves you and cares for you. You are precious and special to Him.
How great and awesome is our God. How He delights in our prayers. How He is working on our behalf when we cannot see Him or His hand.
Daniel could not envision with human eyes or understand with human cognition the modus operandi of heaven. Could not fully grasp or conceive the divine workings of a holy God, behind the scenes.
So God sent him a helper. To inform Daniel that that while he is is praying, God is interceding, planning, and executing on his behalf.
Moreover, the angel Gabriel also gifts to Daniel the encouragement that his faith, believing without seeing, is being lived out not alone. But in the midst of God and company of the heavenly angelic hosts:
Daniel……..
When you start praying, I am already listening.
I will help you. I am for you.
I love you. You are my child, my beloved and precious one.
Every good and perfect present comes from God. To reach out to His people. To gift a message of hope. Of love. Of concern. Of assurance.
It doesn’t get any better than this.
Whenever you are unsure if God cares about you, thinks about you, or listens to your prayers.
Find in His Word, a resounding yes He knows and hears!
Receive God’s divine assurance that he hears you now just as He heard Daniel’s prayers.
