Thank Goodness For Guava Juice

When you leave a door unintentionally open, unwanted interests will flock.  Unlocked, open doors give the enemy a foothold.

This morning, I stopped by our minivan in the garage parking tower.  With our trusty wagon.  Unloaded boogie boards, beach umbrella, beach towels, beach mats, beach pails and shovels, water toys, hats, sunglasses, sunblock, and spare clothes.  Then, I went to get some guava juice for the trip to the other side of the island.

When I returned to leave the guava juice in the car, an alarming sight greeted me.  I had left the minivan trunk completely wide open.  With all of our possessions in clear view.

In our relationship with God, we can find ourselves in the same predicament.  Unwittingly and often without realizing it, we leave doors and windows unlocked and open, exposing ourselves to the elements and for the enemy to enter to twist truths, lay out lies, and darken dreams.  Just enough to keep the curtains of our lives closed so God’s Light can’t filter in.

The deception.  While we think our spiritual life is secure and safe from Satan’s reach, he is actually settling himself in the backseat.  Making himself at home.  Seatbelt buckled in.   Quietly biding his time.  Clandestinely playing mind games with us.  Stealthily gunning for the driver seat.

What to do.

Install an alarm system.  With triggers to let you know something is wrong.  That an intruder has appeared.

That alarm system is a consistent quiet time.  No monthly fees.  Free of charge.

Take measures to secure your spiritual life.  Put in an alarm system to safeguard the most valuable thing in your life.  Your walk with God.

Safeguard the Real Truth.
