Resting Your Heart and Soul in Christ

Finding rest is a universal need.  A place to retreat.  To refresh.  To renergize.  To refuel.  But seeking rest in the wrong places does not lead to authentic rest.

How often have we been admonished about the dangers of fun in all the wrong places?  Be careful where you have fun.  Be cautious in whom you have fun with.

But what about placing our hope in the wrong rest?  Resting in a person, idea, dream.  To think that we have found the end of the rainbow.

The ideal relationship.  The one you’ve been searching for so long.  So you can rest from wandering.

The ideal job.  The one you’ve been seeking for so long.  So you can rest from looking.

That ideal  “something” to fill that emptiness that aches in your soul. So you can rest from yearning.

When the rest we choose is not within God’s will.  That coveted vision becomes a gateway to spiritual conflict and deep disappointment.  People and entities that you thought would give you rest, peace, and joy.  In the end let you down.

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

This I declare about The Lord:  ‘He alone is my refuge, my place of safety. He is My God, and I trust Him.’ ”  —Psalm 91:1-2

Only God offers genuine shelter and lasting refuge.  Not a stop of uncertainty, but a place of divine safety.

Under the shadow of His mighty arms, you will find authentic rest.  Trust God to lead you to His rest.  Surrendering that He knows what you need and where to rest your heart and soul.

Trust God to give you His best rest.  Trust in this Real Truth.
