🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
Make sure that the light you think you have is not actually darkness. —Luke 11:35
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿
Trust is an abstract idea but it gives us boundaries by which to do life. When we are swimming in the ocean, we see the shore and trust that it is there to swim back to. When we are driving in the street, we see the streetlights and trust that it will work to keep the traffic at bay.
If the shoreline were to suddenly disappear, we wouldn’t have a place to return to and rest. No shore means we will drown. If the streetlights were to vanish, the red lights wouldn’t be there to halt traffic at the intersection. No streetlight means we might crash.
In both cases, we trust that the shore and streetlights are where and what they promise to be. But sometimes in life, what we adhere, believe, and commit to turns out to be not all there and not all true.

Satan maneuvers.
The serpent comes to Eve and offers a fruit. He declares how awesome it is…..sweet to taste and safe to eat. It seems good and smells good (had Eve tried a sniff). Eat this fruit Eve, and you will be like God. It’s magic fruit! Go ahead! Go for a bite! What looks like a delicious marvel turns it out to be a disastrous mistake. The offer looks like light, but it’s really darkness. This is how the enemy manipulates us into disobedience. Satan maneuvers our devotion away from light to darkness by making darkness look like light.
🍃
Sin manifests.
So how does Satan do this? He cloaks and costumes the deception. Sin in disguise. It manifests a mirage. Sin transforms into a gallant gentleman or lovely lady all dressed to drive us to a party where all invitees check-in and after you step into the threshold, too late to checkout. The party looks like the happening place, but really it’s a hanging place where faith gets decapitated. What appears to be a celebration of light turns out to be a cell of darkness.
🍃
Sin ministers.
No matter how splendid, sumptuous, or sophisticated it looks, sin is darkness, not light. Sin facilitates death, defeat, and devastation. It is not a fulfillment of life, love, and longing. Sin ministers a counterfeit deliverance. Sin preaches like it’s saving you but really, it’s subverting God’s plans for you. Eve, bite into that fruit and become like God! Darkness disguised as light. Make the move and you will find yourself far from the real party. A relationship with God celebrates all the abundance that God wants to make available to you. All light…..all the way.

True light never fails or falters.
When the darkness looks like light, the best offense is to find the real light. The true light that never fails, falters, or fatigues. Faith follows the real light that’s not pretending to be a false light. Jesus said: I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness.” —John 8:12
If you discover the shoreline isn’t all there, reach out for the life raft of Jesus next to you. If you uncover that the streetlights aren’t working, ready your car to follow the headlights of Jesus in front of you. Float and follow with the One true light that shines gloriously brighter than all the others.
