The Potter’s Hands

The potter imparts reality, beauty, and transformality to the clay.

We are the clay, and You are the Potter.  We are all formed by Your hand.”  —Isaiah 64:8

North Shore in Oahu.  Rough waves and picture postcard sceneries.

Today, as I watched my two younger children dig a giant hole and play in the sand, trading their beach toy animals with one another.  Their gentle spirit and innocence.  I was taken by this thought.  Only God.  Only God could bring to reality.  Breathe life into my little ones.  Make alive and grow in my womb.  To live and play and move,  only, only God.

In His hands, God brings to life and makes the clay a reality.  A vision that can become real through the will of God.  We are His clay and God breathes life into us so we can respond to Him….to love, worship, and glorify Him.  The chief end of men.

Reality from a seed born.

Adam and Eve lived in a perfect world in the garden of Eden.  There, Genesis declares God had made Adam and Eve in His image.  The Potter had formed the clay to reflect Himself.  In doing so, the Potter imparts beauty to the clay that He molds.  The more we grow in Christ.  The more we endeavor to chase hard and follow deep after Jesus.  The more the beauty of Christ manifests in our life.  The visage of a beautiful life in Christ, made possible and glows from the inside out as we nurture our relationship with God and let it bloom.

Beauty from a blossom born.

On the beach, as I observed my children put sand into their animal molds.  From a mess of sand, out came a definitive form and outline of fun animal and shell shapes. Something out of nothing.  God as the Potter.  His clay becomes something more unique.  God imparts transformality to His clay.  From wanderers to worshippers.  From sinners to a saved people.  As His clay, our lives are transformed through the salvation acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior.  The clay, if obedient to the Potter, will bear much fruit.

Transformality from a harvest born.

The Potter always has the best intentions for the clay.  He pours all this goodness into the clay.  So that when the clay is set and ready, it will reveal that goodness to others.  A testimony of the Potter’s handiwork.

He is the Potter and we are His clay.  Let God mold and shape you in His Truth.  Live out this Real Truth today.
