Tell Of His Kindness

“I will tell of the kindnesses of the Lord, the deeds for which He is to be praised, according to all the Lord has done for us—yes, the many good things He has done for Israel, according to His compassion and many kindnesses.”  —Isaiah 63:7

House renovation.  Our family has been preparing to get a house ready to move into.  A different season ahead.

My next door neighbor hired a contractor to construct a new metal fence between our properties.    After I met him, I hired him to paint the exterior of the house.  On a December Saturday morning last year, I stopped by to give him a deposit.

My youngest daughter and I had just come from church.  We were dressed in matching floral dresses.  He commented that we looked like spring flower blossoms.

It was those dresses that opened up a conversation about God.  Floral dresses with short sleeves in December.

I told Luis we were at church.  Then I asked him if he attended church.  He did.  For 12 years and then he stopped.

Life happens.  Disappointments in God happens.  Then one stops trying to pursue God.  I didn’t ask about Luis leaving God.  That’s his personal space.  But I talked about God still being there for Him.

I prayed for Luis.  Usually after I pray, I get a thanks  and that’s the end of it, right.

Well, something happened that day.

Because ever since that morning, Luis now calls me sister.  He is currently working on the interiors of our house.  Texting is our primary means of communication.  Every text, he calls me sister.  “Good morning Sister, I will be working on your house tomorrow.”  Every time I see him, he calls me sister.

And, he brings up to me topics of faith.  Yesterday, he told me he wanted his daughters to know God is there for them if they take the wrong paths in life.

In real life, I have one sweet brother.  He calls me by my first name.  But Luis literally calls me “Sister.”

Alright, I had to get used to that.

But when we tell others about what God is doing in our lives, His deeds and goodness, our praise of Him can become a conduit for someone else to move a little closer to eternity.

Earthly house renovation results in a restored home here.  But a divine renovation of faith prepares us for our heavenly home God has waiting for us.

I’m praying Luis, expert renovator of earthly homes here, has an encounter with Jesus that will lead him to the Master Renovator of all times.

In the circle of people and strangers you meet,  share about the goodness transpiring in your life because of Jesus Christ.

Your praise will delight God and could be the launching pad that moves someone closer to the Master Renovator.

Launch onward towards the Real Truth.
