🌿Breathe Truth🌿
“Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you.” —Jeremiah 29:12
🌿Believe Truth🌿
Prayer is talking to God. But what kind of conversations are we participating with God?
After the fall of Jerusalem, the prophet Jeremiah stays behind to help those who remain in Jerusalem, including Gedelial. Indeed, the first concern Jeremiah has after the Babylonians leave is to travel to the city of Mizpah to see Gedeliah.

Gedelial is appointed by the Babylonians to be their puppet governor, except that he is a believer and a good man. Unfortunately, a successful assassination is carried out against him. Those who plot his death want to flee to Egypt and they ask Jeremiah to inquire the Lord if Egypt is a good idea. Of course it isn’t. God has made it clear. Stay where you are.
But the truth is, they have already decided to go to Egypt. Asking Jeremiah to pray about it is just a pretense. They are playing prayer games with God.

Prayer Games.
When we have already decided what we want to do and how to go about it. When we petition prayer to God, yet are already certain in our mind the course of action we will take. When our true motive isn’t to seek God’s will, but to validate our own will on a matter. Prayer then becomes a superficial stamp of approval for our planning and preparation, not a authentic surrender of our best for God’s glory.
🍃🍃🍃
Here’s the reality. God knows our prayer games, and He will not honor it.
In prayer games, only one outcome exists. Loss of trust and truth. When we are in a love relationship with someone, we don’t play games with them. We don’t fake our motives and lie to them. When we are in a love relationship with God, the same considerations apply. We don’t pretend to pray, yet knowing on the side, we are lying to God with false pretense of inquiring His will for us.

P.R.A.Y.
The acronym says it all:
Pray.
Real.
And.
Yield.
Are there prayers in your life where you faked it to God? Instead………Pray real and yield.
Be honest with God and with yourself. God doesn’t falsely answer our prayers. He doesn’t pretend to hear us when we call. His Son’s death on the cross for our sins is not fake. No fake news here. If God is true in His heart for us, respond in your heart truthfully to Him.
Pray with all your heart, mind and soul truthfully. Pray truth. P.R.A.Y. Pray in the Real Truth.
