🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
When a certain immoral woman from that city heard He was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume. Then she knelt at His feet weeping. —Luke 7:37-38
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿
The alabaster jar of perfume, consisting of pure nard, is valued at a year’s worth of wages, or approximately 300 denarii. To obtain this expensive item comes with it a high human price for anyone, but especially for her.
This woman sells herself to obtain a living. She forgoes the money gained from prostitution to buy the alabaster jar for Jesus.
What is she declaring to God? I’m giving up what I earned in sin to receive the sanctification that can only be found in Jesus Christ.
She delivers better.

Our life choices can create prisons in our lives, locking defeat in and deliverance out. Bars that block. Doors that barricade. Chains that bind. Darkness that blind. Hearing of Jesus’ RSVP at a dinner party, the woman is now peering beyond the walls of her incarceration.
•When she walks into the Pharisee’s house, she is taking a step into freedom.
•When she weeps at Jesus’ feet, she is taking another step into freedom.
•When she wipes away the tears with her hair, she is taking one more step into freedom.
She delivers better.

Life decisions chosen by her has adversely affected her character and calling. But finally at some point, she comes to the conclusion that the view from her prison window isn’t enough. So she surrenders the funds saved from her illicit job to acquire a precious jar of costly perfume. This is her sacrificial gift to Jesus. What I did in sin, I give it up to you, Lord Jesus. No more. No more.

Her journey towards freedom does not begin when she arrives at the Pharisee’s door. Her initial step of freedom occurs long before this, when she relinquishes her prostitution wages to acquire the jar to anoint her Savior. Before she enters the Pharisee’s house, she is already prepared to leave the prison of her past.
If you make life choices you no longer want to engage in, trade them in for an offering to Jesus like this woman. Break down the walls of physical containment and spiritual confinement that sin erects. No more. No more.
Go ahead. Crash the party. Do bolder. Dream bigger. Deliver better.
