Party Crasher, Part 2

🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿

When a certain immoral woman from that city heard He was eating there, she brought a beautiful alabaster jar filled with expensive perfume.  Then she knelt at His feet weeping.  —Luke 7:37-38

🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿

Dream bigger.

We start out life with ideal dreams.  But time, testing, and turmoil can turn those dreams into more realistic dreams.  As our dreams become more realistic, they also become smaller.  Small dreams onften become smaller as the terrain of life turns tougher and the tangles of living and loving tumbles rougher.

Unraveling of goals.

People goals.  Places goals.  Purposes goals.  We possess them to varying degrees as human nature transpires.  This certain woman starts out with goals of people she hopes to connect with, places her life would carry her to, and what purposes she is called to do.  As time passes, these goals unravel as her heart for God unravels, and as her life ravels.  The description of her as an immoral woman indicates her life has unraveled far and wide, deep and high, and upside down and inside out.

Unraveling of grace.

When sin takes charge and is in control of our life, the unraveling of life occurs.  The unraveling of life distracts our goals, deviates us from our devotion to God, and discourages us in a pit of deep despair.

When our devotion detours from its original purpose, an unraveling of grace takes place.  God’s grace doesn’t change in our life, but how we handle His grace unravels.  We lose sight of this gift set before us and seek other places to fill the emptiness that only worship can fulfill.

However, when she hears of Jesus’ arrival to her town and territory, she starts to dream again.  Perhaps, Jesus Christ can permanently stop the unraveling.  Because surely she can’t.  She’s tried on her own terms and with her own version of truth.  But nothing has worked.

🍃

~When she finds the doorway to the Pharisee’s house, she is dreaming.

~When she faces Jesus in front of her, she is dreaming big.

~When she feels her tears trailing down touching Jesus’ feet, she is dreaming bigger.

~When she falls in complete worship before Jesus, she is dreaming bigger than ever.

🍃

Big enough to redeem.

So what is she dreaming bigger for?  To be made whole in Christ, once and for all.  To hold the ribbons of grace in her arms again.  If we dream big, it has to be big enough to redeem all the other inferior and insignificant dreams of the past that our flesh has clung to.

Go ahead.  Crash the party.

Do bolder.  Dream bigger.  Deliver better.
