I will bring them back to this very city and let them live in peace and safety. They will be my people, and I will be their God. And I will give them one heart and one purpose: to worship me forever, for their own good and for the good of all their descendants.
Everyone enjoys receiving presents. The suspense of receiving is electrifying. The surprise of receiving is entertaining. The sweetness of receiving is exhilarating. One of the most powerful gifts that God grants us is the goal of worship. Suspended from loving hands, it can surprise us with great joy, and it’s sweetness offers us great strength.
Undivided purpose. A house divided cannot stand. A heart divided cannot sing. A heart divided cannot search the heart of God to align our heart to His. A heart divided cannot seek the kingdom of God to answer the deepest sorrow of our needs. A heart divided is one distracted from its true purpose: To worship God forever, for infinity, forward to the end of time. The deity of God calls us to deeper depth in Him as we dive all in, devote all out, and displace all else that draws our attention distant from God. Deep calls to deep, and the deepest calling to higher humanity is to worship our witness to honor God.
Undivided presence. We worship to see God’s goodness. But the experience of God is a domino effect that pours the results of our response into the lives of our children. Our worship—our voice to praise God and our choice to prioritize him has eternal consequences for those we breathe space with. Our worship lays a foundation from which we share the goodness of God with our children and from where God’s goodness is springboarded for revival in our family. Our worship births the potential worship for generations to come. God’s undivided presence not only leads us in worship, but it launches the praise of our children and for the generations to come.
Undivided provisions. God’s undivided provisions of peace and safety paves way for the work of His undivided purpose and presence to establish highways and byways of inward tendrils into our lives. So that we can be unified in heart to be His people and that Yahweh would be our God. Undivided provision, purpose, and presence builds worship LEGO style. One brick at a time. One individual at a time. One family at a time. One generation at a time.
