Spiritual Alignment

Spiritual Alignment results in Spiritual Abundance.

Zacchaeus.  A man despised by the people of his home town because he was the chief collector in the region.

And like many tax collectors, he had become wealthy through illegal means, by demanding more money for taxation than he needed to and stealing it for himself.  Zacchaeus was a deceiver and thief.

But then Jesus arrives in Jericho, Zacchaeus’s hometown and what Zacchaeus does next defines the rest of his life.

  1.  Zacchaeus finds a way to see Jesus.  Being a small man, atop of a tree.
  2. Zacchaeus has an encounter with Jesus.  Confessing his sins of deception and theft, he repents.
  3. Zacchaeus aligns his life to honor God. “…If I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!” —Luke 19:8
  4. Zacchaeus experiences spiritual abundance.  Jesus responds to Zacchaeus’ decision to change his life:  “Salvation has come to this home today.  For the Son of Man came to seek and save those who are lost.”  —Luke 19:9.

Zacchaeus wanted more of Jesus than he did of the world and the wealth that his job offered.  He wanted to align his life to something greater and eternal.  A life surrendered to God.

Spiritual Alignment results in Spiritual Abundance.

No earthly riches, success, or achievements can satisfy our need for spiritual abundance. Zacchaeus was willing to lose his gain for a better one.

Praise God for this Real Truth.
