Rocking The Faith

🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿

One day some parents brought their children to Jesus so He could lay His hands on them and bless then.  But the disciples scolded the parents for bothering Him.  But Jesus said, “Let the children come to me.  Don’t stop them!  For the Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are like these children.”  Matthew 19:14-15

🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿

Words wreck our peace.  Worry wrecks our purpose.  Wanting wrecks our patience.  Wrestled thoughts.  Weary truths.  Weathered terrain.  As we grow into adulthood, we begin to accumulate baggage.  Instead of rocking the faith, we accrue a rock collection of burdens to lug around.  Not smooth, silky, shiny, shimmering rocks of beauty.  These rocks are raw sharp, razor searing, and ragged scaring. We spend energy and exertion to haul them everywhere we go.  They hurt, not heal.  Hinder, not help.  They weigh us down and anchor us to the lesser things of this world.

What kind of rocks are you carrying?

Anger.  Bitterness.  Concerns.  Discouragement.  Embarrassment.  Fear.  Guilt.  Hidden sin.  Idolatry.  Junk.  Letdown.  Mess.  Not loved.  Obsessing.  Pride.  Quarrels.  Regret.  Shame.  Trust issues.  Unfaithfulness.  Very stressed.  Wounds.  eX-relationships.  whY-me.  Zapped dreams.

But Jesus sees our rock collection and He wants us to stop collecting.  Gather them up and give them up to Him.  Like the children in Matthew 19.  The faith of a child comes to God unhampered and unhindered, emblazoned and emboldened for the love of the Father.  No perfection or performance.   No requirement or results.  No check-list or check-off.  No you have to “be” or “act” a certain way.  No mask or masquerade.  The rocks are flung.  The anchor is lifted.  The wind is leaving.  The Spirit is launching.

Like a child, come in freedom.

Like a child, come in fullness.

Like a child, come in faith.

Like a child, come to the Father.

Jesus’ invitation is inclusive for all who relish to come and receive exclusive access.  Enter through Jesus and experience the Kingdom of Heaven.  Leave your rock collection by the door because the Rock of Salvation is the only rock you will ever need from now on.
