Your Heart, Prime Real Estate For Jesus

🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿

“Yet some of you are trying to kill Me because there’s no room in your hearts for My message.”  —John 8:37

🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿

His life in danger.  Jesus faces opposition from the Pharisees and Jewish leaders who want to shut down His ministry, sabotage His message, and see Him dead.  Their hearts are so full of hatred and hostility against Jesus that no remaining room exists for His Word to rest and reside in.

What happens when we close ourselves up to the Gospel?  Slam the door upon its genesis appearance?

Or when we do open the door, slightly ajar, for a peek only.  But refuse to let the entirety of Jesus’ message enter through?

🍃🍃🍃

We deny and defy the truth of God’s Words to take hold in our hearts.  Instead, we fill up the remaining spaces in our heart with things of lesser substance and lower value.  Minor, menial, and marginal pursuits.  Inferior, insignificant, and inconsequential purposes.  That leaves our hearts theoretically full, yet spiritually empty.

Vacancy sign notice:

“We have room for the things of this world that are……..

unimportant and unworthy

irreverent and irrelevant

peripheral and pointless

negligible and nonessential

Please inquire inside this heart.”

Leave room for Jesus in your heart even when the Word of God falls among the rocks.

Other seed fell among rocks.  It began to grow, but the plant soon wilted and died for lack of moisture.  (Luke 8:6)

The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy.  But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation.  (Luke 8:13)

Shortened and shallow roots lead to ungrounded faith.  The message of new life is received, but it doesn’t dig deep down.  Your belief wavers and wilts.  Not enough connections to quench your soul with the living water of Jesus Christ when temptation occurs.  Tragically, temptation dries up fledgling faith.  Sin will separate us from God and suspend our growth in Christ, but it cannot stop His heart to continue to pursue us.

No matter how far you find yourself, you can still set aside room for Jesus to plant new seeds in your heart.

🍃🍃🍃

Leave room for Jesus in your heart even when the Word of God falls upon thorns.

Other seed fell among the thorns that grew up with it and choked out the tender plants.  (Luke 8:7)

The seeds that fell among the thorns represent those who hear the message, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the cares and riches and pleasures of this life.  And they never grow into maturity.  (Luke 8:14)

Scattered and spattered priorities lead to unsecured faith.  A myriad of cares battle for placement in your life.  They want acknowledgment, attention, and ultimately, access.  When we give gratification of the flesh admission, we grant them entry to acquire territory in our heart, thus choking out God’s truth.  Preoccupations with worldly desires unyoke and uncouple our commitment to God, but they cannot wholly undermine God’s greater plan for you to know Christ and to grow in maturity in Him.

No matter what you have chosen over God before, it’s not too late, and you can still set aside room for Jesus to plant new seeds in your heart.
