🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
The seed is God’s Word.
The seeds that fell on the footpath represent those who hear the message, only to have the devil come and take it away from their hearts and prevent them from believing and being saved.
The seeds on the rocky soil represent those who hear the message and receive it with joy. But since they don’t have deep roots, they believe for a while, then they fall away when they face temptation. —Luke 8:11-14
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿
For those who do not know God yet, the battleground for their future is salvation. The enemy actively hinders the Word of God here in two ways.
- When the Word falls on the footpath: No roots yet. The enemy prevents the Word from ever taking root.
- When the Word falls on rocky soil: Some roots appear. The enemy precludes the Word from spreading roots.
But there’s another group of people adversely affected by opposition from the enemy: Believers.
🍃
For those who know God, the battlefield for their faith is sanctification. The enemy actively hinders the Word of God here as well.
- When the Word falls on the footpath: The enemy prevents the Word from reaching our ears, eyes, and hearts through interruption.
- When the Word falls on rocky soil: The enemy precludes growth by uprooting the Word from further developing roots through disruption.
🍃🍃🍃
Interruption stops the transmission of God’s truth to funnel into our lives. Satan takes steps to obstruct our efforts to open our life to the work of sanctification.
God’s Word begins to spread its roots every morning when we start the day with God. But the enemy wants nothing more than to insert interruptions to abbreviate our time with God, to abandon our taste of God’s goodness.
God’s Word begins to encourage us and keep us rooted in Him when we hear musical praises of joy and lyrical anthems of thanksgiving to Him. But the enemy wishes nothing more than to assert interruptions to change our mind from listening to His truth, to chase our mind from leaning onto His truth.
God’s Word begins to stretch roots when we gather corporately to worship God. But the enemy wars nothing more than to pervert interruptions to halt us from fellowship with other believers in the church or informal setting.
🍃🍃🍃
Disruption stymies the transfer of God’s truth to fuel our lives. God doesn’t tempt us, only Satan. Satan utilizes temptation to neutralize and then sabotage God’s work of sanctification. Roots appear. But temptation is akin to root poison and halts the roots from expanding. If need be, to kill the root itself so that the plant will die. If enough disruptions occur in our faith development, the result is severe damage to the soul and spirit:
Faith falters.
Faith flounders.
Faith fades.
Faith fails.
Beloved, the footpath and rocky soil are potential danger areas where the enemy roams. Exert consideration. Exercise care. Evidence caution. Don’t let Satan’s interruptions and disruptions impede and impair your growth in Jesus Christ. Fortify your roots and feed the roots of your needs in the richness of the Word.
