Intentional Faith

Intentional faith helps us to encounter what lies ahead, in familiar and unfamiliar terrains, and transforms our future for God’s glory.

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind beggar was sitting beside the road.  When he heard the noise of a crowd going past, he asked what was happening.   They told him that Jesus the Nazarene was going by.

So he shouted, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”    “

Be quiet!” The people in front yelled at me.  But he only shouted louder, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”  —Luke 18: 35-39

A beggar.  Blind, helpless.  He is sitting on the ground in the dirt and grime.

Noise, people speaking, shouting, clamoring.  What is going on, he wonders, and then he inquires.  To step out and ask, it takes intentional initiative.

The blind beggar learns something.  Jesus is coming  this way.  Coming by near him.  Jesus, Savior.  Son of God.  He begins shouting Jesus’ Name.  When people tell him to stop and hush up, he shouts even louder.  To make a stand against the world’s standard of conformity,  it takes intentional courage.

When Jesus stops and asks the blind beggar what is it he wants.  He answers:  Oh Jesus, Savior, Son of Man, please let me see.  Only you can help me.  To see truth and to act upon truth, it takes intentional faith.

The  blind man asks for his physical vision.  Jesus gives him even more.  Jesus gives him new spiritual vision.

Jesus said, “Receive your sight!  Your faith has healed you.”  Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus, praising God.  —Luke 18:42

To trust God with your future.  To believe Jesus can change your future and make it better.  An intentional faith brings about a transformation of life.

Jesus gifted the blind beggar with new spiritual eyes.  He can do the same for you.  Pursue an intentional faith with intentional courage through intentional initiatives.

Pursue the Real Truth and transform your future.
