In These Hands, My Plans

🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿

“I will show love to the people of Judah.  I will free them from their enemies—not with weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.”  —Hosea 1:7

🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿

Judah, the southern kingdom, faces enemies from different areas.  In the first three years of being king of the southern kingdom, Hezekiah revolts against the Assyrians and conquers the Philistines, their long time nemesis.  But his greatest threat continues to be Assyria who annihilate the northern kingdom during the sixth year of Hezekiah’s reign.  The northern kingdom permanently falls at the hands of the Assyrians in 772BC never to rise again.

Hezekiah utilizes all the resources possible the next 8 years preparing for Assyria to attack his kingdom next, which they do.

In life, we will encounter enemies.  Those who are not for us, whose motives are harmful to us, and who fight against us.

What does God do?  He gives His people messages like this one from Hosea.  Often, ahead of time.

God assures us when our enemies assault us.

“I will show love to to the people of Judah.”

God lays down the motivation for His actions:  His relationship with His people.  I love you.  I am committed to you.  I care for you.  In Me, You will discern the imprint of your worth.  You will distinguish the impact of my work.

🍃

I will free them from their enemies not from weapons and armies or horses and charioteers, but by my power as the Lord their God.

The old way of thinking:  We can conquer our enemies on our own.  We have physical resources we can see in front of us.  Worldly weapons and human armies to challenge against the fight.  Worldly horses and chariots to challenge into the fight.

God’s way of thinking:  I can conquer your enemies by my power.  I have supernatural resources you cannot see.  Heavenly weapons and armies of angels to carry you and charge against the fight.  Heavenly horses and chariots to carry you and charge into the fight.

The difference:  What you have may not be adequate to fend off your enemies.  But what God possesses will always be sufficient.  He is able to fulfill and capable to finish the battle set before you.  God will use all the eternal resources He has available to accomplish His plans against your opposition.  The resources of God will always be enough because God is enough.  Deliverance comes from no where else.  Not only will God liberate, but God will extend and enlarge your territory.  He will exceed your expectations.

In this land, I will expand.

In these hands, My plans.

Against the enemies’ stand, I can.

Hezekiah faces the greatest world power during this time period.  Known for their military strength and malevolent savagery, the Assyrians are the Old Testament version of modern-day terrorists.  Formidable warriors feared by those who face them.  Hezekiah is outnumbered and outmanned, overwhelmed and overpowered.  But he trusts God.

God helps us face our fears.

God advances us before our adversaries.

God emancipates us from our entanglements.

God makes the impossible possible.

🍃🍃🍃

God will maneuver the pieces of your life to place you in the best position against the enemy.  No matter how unreachable the victory, God will not abandon or forsaken you.  Regardless how unapproachable the other side, He will not desert or disavow you.

God will fight for you if you falter.

God will stand with you if you stumble.

God will protect you if you plummet.

God frees us from the strongholds and sieges that the enemy sets up and surrounds us with.  Leave the outcome to God and see the Real Truth prevail.
