🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves. About three o’clock in the morning, Jesus came towards them, walking on the water.
“Don’t be afraid,” He said. “Take courage, I am here.” —Matthew 14:24-25, 27
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH🌿
The sky is dark. The shore is distant. The sight is dim. Seasoned sailors are directing this detachment of disciples. Fishermen siblings Peter and Andrew, and James and John are ready to guide this ride. This crew can crush any condition that war their way. No problem, right.
But previous experience and prior exposure can only take us so far. Reliance on the past is not always reliable. Because every storm is different. Because every battle is different.

Jesus shows up bigger.
A strong wind had arisen and they were fighting heavy waves (Matt 14:24). Far away from the familiar, factors arise to fight against our faith. Opposition arrives. Oppression approaches. Obstruction appears. Faltering faith focuses on the unfathomable and freezes. Firm faith finds a way to steer pass the fear. As a student of the storm, size up your opponent better.
Salient strategies of storm warfare:
Rule #1: Two storms exist in life. The visible one outside. The invisible one inside.
Rule #2: The inside storm has to be conquered before the outside storm can be won.
Rule #3: Help is highly recommended for both storms.
The disciples panic that they are alone and on their own. In the physical realm, this is a disadvantage. But in the spiritual realm, strength isn’t described by numbers. Success isn’t derived by the numbers either. Our victory is defined by who shows up. Blessings for us, when Jesus shows up, He shows up bigger.

Jesus shows up brighter.
In the midst of distress. In the middle of the danger. In the mess of the darkness. Jesus sweeps across the sea. On a trek for truth. If He truly wants to, Jesus could fly upward towards the disciples. Air and sea are both under His control. But the disciples are fighting heavy waves. So when Jesus walks upon the water, He is declaring: I have power over what you are fighting. I have power over who is fighting you. Heavy waves, see my power!
No matter the battle, Jesus is in command. When storms rise, the strength of Christ rises higher. Wait for His appearing. Watch For His arrival. Witness His answer. He advances to step above the water and over the waves of your life. In the night that is darkest, Jesus shows up brighter and bolder. A living light in the hardest.
•The fear facing you.
•The failure finding you.
•The pain pushing you.
•The panic pulling you.
•The sorrow swirling in you.
•The struggle swallowing you.
Jesus is more than the storm storming your life. He is more than the disappointment draining your dream. He is more than the defeat diluting your devotion. He is more than the winds whipping at your worship. Hear His words soar above the storm’s roar: Take courage. I. Am. Here.

A living light in the hardest,
He shakes the darkness,
He stills the madness,
He shatters the mess,
So you can withstand the test,
See truth when the storm sets,
God says you are more…..when the enemy says you are less.
