“Heaven is My throne, and the earth is My footstool. Could you build me a temple as good as that? Could you build me such a resting place?” —Isaiah 66:1
🌿Believe Truth🌿
If you love someone, and knew they would die, what would you give up to rescue them? All your life savings, your resources, and even your life?
Jesus conceded His privileges, His position, His power, and His life to die in our place on the cross. He relinquished Heaven, His temple and place of rest. Jesus’ love for us compelled Him to surrender everything to win back our souls.

“Though He was God, He did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, He gave up His divine privileges. —Philippians 2:6
Privilege. Jesus did not place His privileges above His calling to present the gospel and execute His ministy. He did not use His divine powers to carry out His mission. Though they enabled Him to call forth miracles, conducts healings, and carry out salvation, He chose to lower Himself by becoming a mortal.
Jesus could have bypassed much pain and suffering had He publicly and openly manifested His deity capabilities. Instead, He tucked away His supernatural privileges while on earth.

“He took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being.” Philippians 2:7
Position. Jesus did not place His position above His calling as a servant who came to humble Himself so that the Good News could come to life. He exchanged His divine, eternal position for an earthly, temporal one to identify with the people He came to serve. Jesus undertook the most helpless form of humankind possible, that of a baby.
He surrendered his rights as God to be a mere human being. He capitulated all entitlements and embraced a humiliating position as a slave for the world.

“When He appeared in human form, He humbled Himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.” —Philippians 2:8
Power. Jesus did not place His power above His submission to the cross to die in our place. He made Himself powerless in obedience to God The Father. He made Himself powerless before the members of the Pharisees, the High Priest, the Roman army and officials, and especially Pilate the Roman governor who gave in to the Jewish leaders plot to kill Him.
Jesus powerlessly accepted their beating of Him as an innocent man and their sentence of Him as a criminal.

Jesus considered equality with God an opportunity to come down to earth and deliver us from condemnation and death for our sins. With simply a word or gesture, He could have changed minds, transform hearts, and save souls without humbling Himself. Yet Jesus made Himself small and His love for us bigger.
