God is Still in Control

🌿Breathe Truth🌿

Every word of God proves true.  He is a shield to all who come to Him for protection.”  —Proverbs 30:5

🌿Believe Truth🌿

Today, we had arrived in Legoland when my son started having stomach pains.   Unfortunately, we were at the other side of the park from the exit.  We hurried back to the room and left the rest of the family at the park.  Thankfully, he felt better, so we decided to return to Legoland.

The minute I stepped out of the condo, I realized my car and room keys were inside the room.   Locked out, I called the front desk.  It soon became apparent this was going to be a long wait.

This had been a challenging trip for me personally and now here we were stranded.  Discouragement settled in over me.  As a parent, we keep these thoughts to ourselves, but I could feel myself going down this slope.

We were supposed to wait near our condo door.  But out of the blue, I felt compelled to go outside.  There, I looked upward and suddenly saw a hotel employee on the second story veranda of the building adjacent to us.

🍃🍃🍃

At other places we’ve stayed in, the hotel employees usually won’t open your room door if you are locked out.  You have to go through a procedure where the security guy comes and your ID is verified.

But I took a chance and cried out to him our situation.  From the veranda, he shouts back to me:  “I can help you!  I can open the door!”  Then he lifts a set of keys from his pocket and jiggles them for me to see.

When he comes down to meet us, my son and I see his name tag.  Gabriel.

God is still in control.

Moments and times of discouragement trickle into our lives and we may feel ourselves sinking beneath its reach.  Tranquil waves may not have been in the forecast recently.

Look upward.  Don’t look downward.  Be strengthened and encouraged.  He can transform the deserts and hard places in your life.

The deserts will become as green as the mountains of Lebanon, as lovely as Mount Carmel……

Strengthen those who have tired hands, and encourage those who have weak knees.

Say to those with fearful hearts, ‘Be strong, do not fear.’ ”  —Isaiah 35:1-4

🍃🍃🍃

Let Jesus strengthen your heart from tired hands, weak knees, and discouragement.  He is more than what you see.  Exchange what you feel for Him.  He has a Gabriel ready to help you at just the right moment when you are in need.

God sends His provision and protection, and meets us when we may least expect it. He is a shield that guards us unconditionally in all seasons.  He covers us.  Discouragement may try to pierce God’s shield, but God will never cease fighting for you.

God is still in control.  In all your circumstances. Look upward and cry out to Him.  Call out to the Real Truth.
