🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿
“Anyone who hears my teaching and doesn’t obey it is foolish, like a person who builds a house on sand. When the rains and floods and the winds beat against that house, it will collapse with a mighty crash.” —Matthew 7:26
🌿LIVE THE REAL TRUTH 🌿
In spiritual matters, the discovery of spiritual flowers and the deception of spiritual weeds exist to edify and encourage and to confuse and confound us respectively.
In the garden of our lives, there are weeds that masquerade as flowers. They live, like, listen, and look like flowers, but function to distort truth.
🍃
In Matthew 7, the mistakes of foundation building come to light. The person who builds his house on sand willfully disobeys God. But sometimes, that individual looks at the sand, and instead of recognizing it for what it truly is, a weed, they mistaken it for a flower to their spiritual detriment. Thus, they construct their home based on shifting sands that shift when life shifts.
In Genesis 3, the mistakes of faith building is manifested. Eve’s defiance of God’s instructions to not eat from the tree in the middle of the garden defines her future relationship with God. Her unwillingness to surrender her will to God leads her to succumb to the worst weed possible, Satan’s temptation. Satan presents the fruit as a desireable flower that in reality, is a weed to be avoided.
🍃
We build where we shouldn’t and we consume what we shouldn’t. Building in the wrong places sinks our house and unsettles the foundation of our faith. Consuming what we shouldn’t steals the devotion that belongs to God and unseals the distractions that pulls us away from God.
Beloved, consider carefully the next time you encounter a flower in your spiritual life. It may have the arrival, ambience, and appearance of a flower, but don’t let the semblance fool you. Dig deeper. Fathom further. Make sure the flower is truly offering the fragrance of Christ and not the aroma of the enemy.
