Enter Here

What and who enters our life, can lead us toward or away from God.

For the next few days, we will focus on the acronym REVIVE.

E is for Enter.

Good enterings produce good fruits.

Unhealthy enterings produce undesireable fruits.

There are people and things that enter our lives that exude a dynamic life and hope in Christ.  They love the Word and want to share salvation in Christ with others.  They get excited about the things of God all the time.   And our association with them rubs off of us in a very good way.  We leave being excited for Jesus because of them.

Then there are people and things that enter our lives that are destructive.  Their presence darkens our thoughts, discourages our outlook on life, and leave us feeling like damaged goods and more lonely than before.  They hurt us.

What and who do we let enter into our lives, our hearts?

In John 4, we see the Samaritan woman at the well.  Five men have been in her past.  She currently has another man in her life right now.  None of these relationships have been edifying for her.

But now she has an encounter with Jesus.  And He wants to give her something different than what those men had offered her.  Living water, so she will never thirst again.  Never have to be in want of the things of this world.  Jesus extends to her an amazing gift that is eternal, enduring, and better.  Better than the men that had entered her life.

Jesus can do the same for you.  If you have allowed people and things into your life that were not good for you, living water awaits you.  JESUS.  Jesus is here and available.  He wants to give you something better than what has entered your life and is attempting to reside, control, or overwhelm you.

The Ultimate worse entering was Judas:  “And Satan entered into Judas who was called Iscariot, belonging to the number of the twelve.  And he went away and discussed with the chief priests and offers how he might betray Him (Jesus) to them.”  (Luke 22:3-2)

But Judas’ story is not your story.  Jesus has a better story.  And He wants to enter your life and become the better story.  Choose the better Entering that leads to life.
