🌿Breathe Truth🌿
“What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator.
Does a clay pot argue with its maker?
Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying, ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong.’ ”
—Isaiah 45:9-10
🌿Believe Truth🌿
In the garden of Eden, we see the created challenging the Creator. When Adam and Eve chooses to heed the serpent’s offer over God’s instructions.
Fast forward to the betrayal of Christ.
In the ministry of Jesus, we see the student challenging the Master. When Judas chooses to heed the voice of the enemy over Jesus’ truths.
Does the clay argue with the one who shapes it? In real life, yes. We see this with quarrels between children and parents. We read of altercations between God and biblical characters in the Old and New Testament. We witness dissension between believers and God. We experience personal disagreement with God in our journey of faith.
Discord arise between the created and the Creator when these things take place: a change and a challenge.

Change.
Conversion is defined as the fact of changing one’s religion or beliefs; the process of changing from one form to another.
Conflict arise between God and us when there is a specific belief we have of God that is altered.
Adam and Eve believed they could have knowledge equal to God if they ate the fruit as the serpent specified. Their belief that they were under the authority of God was converted.
Judas was already stealing from the disciples treasury when Satan entered his body and he approached the Pharisee leaders to betray Jesus. His belief that Jesus was the Messiah was converted.
Something changes in our belief in God that it converts our view of God, what role He plays in our lives, and how much we trust Him in that specific area of our life. That area than becomes grounds and contention for a dispute of the clay with its Maker.

Challenge.
The change or converted belief leads to a challenge.
Challenges are birthed in our cognitive life and then is executed in defiance of God in our spiritual life.
Once the serpent placed the possibility of equality with God in Eve’s mind, the door was open for disobedience. Eve walked right through and ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil despite God’s instructions not to. She then came up with the idea to include Adam in the challenge. She didn’t simply tell him to consume it. Eve handed the fruit to him. Pre-meditated disobedience leads to a challenge of God.
Once Satan entered Judas, he directed Judas to fully surrender Jesus into the hands of the Pharisees. Judas then plotted a plan when Jesus would be away from the crowds so that the Pharisees could have Him arrested. Then Judas had to go to the Pharisees again and lead their entourage of Roman soldiers in the middle of the night, weaving through the darkness and fauna of the garden of Gethsemane. Pre-mediated disobedience leads to a challenge of God.

The clay pot questions its Maker when a change takes place and a challenge of God’s kingship results. Biblical characters, believers, and we alter something in our belief of God and challenge what God tells us is right in His word or character.
We believe we know better and what Jesus offers is not enough.
🍃🍃🍃
Is there something in your life that has caused conflict between you and God? Where you think He is not doing enough, that there is more that God is keeping you from?
Be careful of the slippery slope of change and challenge. Go back to the Word of God and examine the conversion of belief you are entertaining so that it doesn’t propel you to a disobedient challenge of God’s will in your life.
🍃🍃🍃
Clay, remember who your Maker is. Even when you disobey Him, He still gives you chances of forgiveness and redemption. The Maker could completely destroy the clay. Instead, He transforms the clay’s sin and brokenness into sanctification and beautiful.
Clay, let God build you up and reshape you for greater purposes that glorify Him. Be reshapened and recreated in the Real Truth.
