Beauty Of Redemption

🌿BREATHE TRUTH🌿

For this is how God loved the world.  He gave His one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.

God sent His Son not to judge the world, but to save the world through Him.”  —John 3:16-17

🌿BELIEVE TRUTH🌿

The letter of the law:  We break the law.  We sin. Consequences result.

The beauty of redemption:  God sacrificed His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our consequences.  Written all over this exchange is one word: “Forgiven.”

Monday morning.  Things are a bit off.  Things are lost that can’t be found.  Things are prepared that become unprepared.

We get in the car onto rush hour.  Into the HOV High Occupancy Vehicle lane for cars with 2+ passengers.  A car pulls in front of us.  The license plate reads: I Love God.  For 40 minutes all I see is this license plate.  A gentle reminder God is with us in the car.

🍃🍃🍃

We exit the freeway and engine our way through residential streets.  I approach a traffic light and a police man steps out in the intersection and points me to turn right into a side street.  I turn.

On the right side of the street, an assembly line of cars being ticketed.  On the left side of the street, 7+ police vehicles.  It is an operation.  He tells me I had slightly speeded.  I had no idea.

Waiting in the car.  My thoughts.  I Love God license plate.  You are still with me, right, God.

The police guy asks my driver license and insurance card.

Three things happen next.

1. He tells me:  Not a whisper.  Simply hands over a small paper folded in half.  I open it.  One word:  “warning.”

2.  He tells me:  “You need new tires.”  I awkwardly answer, “I need new tires?”  The police guy replies, “Come outside.  I’ll show you.”  He walks around my car and points out where my tires are worn out.

3.  He tells me:  “I’ll help you back up.”  Remember that assembly line of cars?  The police guy waves intermittently as I back up, acting as my rear mirror so I don’t have to worry about the car behind.  I didn’t know how to explain to him my minivan has a backup camera.

In God’s economy of grace, sin is not recorded or remembered.  His Son’s death on the cross settled the debt of our sins in the physical and spiritual realm.

Every sin committed and every law broken renders judgement.  Jesus’ sacrificial death on the cross fulfills both the worldly judgment and the heavenly judgment.  Done deal.

🍃🍃🍃

When we transgress, God hands us a note that declares:  “forgiven and paid for.”

🍃

He walks with us and redeems the worn out places with newness of life.

🍃

He backs us up so we don’t need to worry about what’s behind us.

🍃

The beauty of redemption is offered to all.  Let the Real Truth redeem your life and get ready for the ride of your life.
