Tomb To The Tree

We are all saved the same way, by the undeserved grace of the Lord Jesus.  —Acts 15:11

It matters not the church, culture, or companions we grow up with.  God makes a way to find us and fellowship with us so we can gather and grow our faith in Him.  We don’t deserve the grace He reserves for us.  But our story is not about what we do to receive salvation.  It’s about what Jesus battles for us to believe.

We are called to grace.

The world has a myriad of means to entice us towards itself. But the eventual end is never to express the rhythm of grace or God’s greatness.  The world calls us to risk everything for sin.  God calls us to rise up to be set apart.  The world calls us to ephemeral pleasures that lead to abrupt death.  God calls us to eternal purposes that lead to abundant life.  One call derails our calling in Christ to bring us down.  The other call delivers us in Christ to higher ground.

We are confirmed in grace.

To confirm means to establish truth and to state with assurance a fact is true.  Jesus’ death on the cross confirms our salvation by substituting his death in our place.  A cost has to be collected for sin and the cross clears the ledger of our sin debts.  Each nail secures the salvation gift that relinquished  our Savior everything so that we could receive everything .

Grace transports Jesus onto the cross.  Grace tramples Satan under the cross.  Grace traces our victory from the tomb to the tree.  Through the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, grace confirms what Jesus aims to affirm in our life:  By divine grace alone is eternal life offered.  No human means, mastery, or merit is measured.  Receive this gift and respond to God’s grace by breathing in His truth right where you are with no need for pretense, performance, or perfection.

🍃

We are complete in grace.

In the wilderness or in our wrestling, God continues to extend His grace.  We rebel against God.  Jesus reaches out to us.  We rage to defy God.  Jesus rallies to us.  We rush from God.  Jesus remembers us.  We run away from God.  Jesus reconciles Himself to us.  From our rebellion to our reconciliation, a full circle of grace is beautifully drawn for our redemption.  The journey from the tomb to the tree reconnects us to God because of grace.  We are declared restored in His grace, for His grace commences, carries, and covers the work of Christ on the cross to make us complete.

From the tomb to the tree,

Jesus comes to set me free.

To be who I’m created to be,

To believe what He says of me,

To begin anew with new possibilities,

To blossom in grace so passionately,

Til He calls me home eternally.
