Ask For Blessings

🌿Breathe Truth🌿

Even in the womb, Jacob struggled with his brother; when he became a man, he even fought with God.

Yes, he wrestled with the angel and won.  He wept and pleaded for a blessing from him.”  —Hosea 12:3–4

🌿Believe Truth🌿

Wrestling heart, weary soul.  Is this you?

Like Jacob, we struggle in the earthly realm and the spiritual realm.

🍃🍃🍃

In the earthly realm, Jacob fights against his brother, Esau.  The consequences of that altercation results in generational and religious animosity between their descendants that endure long pass their deaths.  But not only with his brother, Jacob would go on to battle his brother-in -law Laban’s deceit, his wife Rachel’s death, his 11 children’s strategems, and his son Joseph’s kidnapping.   Seasons of loss.  Relationships severed.

In our earthly realm, we battle men as well. In our own flesh, in our own perceived strength….until we realize victory can only come through Jesus Christ.

🍃🍃🍃

In the spiritual realm, Jacob fights with the angel, an incarnation of God.  The consequences of that wrestling entanglement leads to a divine generational blessing that far outlasts Jacob’s lifetime.  After struggling with God, Jacob receives a new name to reflect the goodness of his determination to hold on to God:  his family becomes the nation of Israel where the line of the Messiah will be descended from.

Your name will no longer be called Jacob…..From now on, you will be called Israel, because you have fought with God and men and have won.”— Genesis 32:28

In our spiritual realm, we battle against Satan.  Seemingly invisible, but completely evil.  Our spiritual warfare is not of material weapons that we physically wield, but includes the sword of the Spirit which is the word of God.  Victory comes only from warfare that our human eyes cannot comprehend.

🍃🍃🍃

We see with Jacob a transformation that takes place in his life.

From wrestling heart, weary soul.  To wrestling heart, worshipping soul.

🍃🍃🍃

Jacob names the place he met and struggled with God:  Peniel.  Peniel means “face of God.”  Like Jacob, you can worship God after wrestling the pieces of your life before God.

When you wrestle with God, pursue His blessing.  Seek the blessing of the Real Truth.
